Exciting news β GroundControl integrates directly with your CMM! To access this feature, navigate to Form 3. Before uploading your measurements, please ensure that the balloons which correspond with your CMM measurements are already ballooned within the software.
π‘ We highly recommend setting up your CMM to take measurements in the same sequence as you ballooned your drawing in Form 3. This will make it so GroundControl can import your CMM data accurately and apply it directly to your results column.
Once you have completed your balloons, click the CMM Import button in the toolbar to upload your CMM measurements. Once they are uploaded, GroundControl will parse your measurements and display your CMM import file to you.
GroundControl will attempt to identify your header row and first data row automatically, although you can set this manually, too. Click continue once these are set.
From here you can map the data columns. Match the correct header to each column to ensure that GroundControl can transfer your data correctly. Drag and drop each relevant column in the Available Columns section to the corresponding header in the Column Mapping section.
A fully mapped CMM spreadsheet will look something like this in GroundControl:
Press the Next button until you have mapped every uploaded CMM spreadsheet (if you uploaded more than one at a time). Once you have completed all mapping, click Continue at the bottom right of the CMM Import window.
Once you have done so, you will see the Data Preview & Configuration section. This will display your CMM output β now appropriately organized β with automatically consolidated measurements. You can exclude rows, filter out rows, and expand any consolidated rows. When everything looks good to you, click Import N Characteristics in the bottom right and your CMM data will populate within your Form 3 spreadsheet. If you have already set your tolerances in GroundControl or in your CMM software, you will be able to immediately see whether your results are within tolerance.
