GroundControl uses 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) to protect your account from being accessed by anyone other than you.
When your account is created, the email account associated with your GroundControl account will automatically be set up as your 2FA method. This means that whenever you attempt to sign into GroundControl, your password isn't enough to get through. You also need a unique, quick-expiry code that will be sent to your email inbox.
You may also notice that after a period of inactivity, GroundControl will obscure your screen and check if you're still active. This is to protect your data when you step away from your computer while signed into GroundControl.
If you are signed out due to inactivity, you will be required to generate and enter a new 2FA code.
SSO Authentication
The safest way to access GroundControl is to set up your company's accounts through a Single Sign-On service.
This means that your access to GroundControl is linked to your own company's sign-in, and as such is protected to the same extent as the rest of your company's applications.
π‘ If your company is interested in enabling SSO, please ask a member of your IT team to reach out to [email protected] to learn more.
