I'm having issues uploading my Bill of Materials (BOM) into Form 1. What do I do?
A common cause for this issue is that the file is not formatted as an acceptable filetype. For GroundControl to process an uploaded BOM or CofC, it must be an .xlsx or .csv file. GroundControl cannot import macro-enabled worksheets (.xlsm). If you open the .xlsm file in Excel and save it as an .xlsx or .csv file, it can then be imported into GroundControl.
I'm trying to export Form 1 of my FAIR, but it's telling me that the export failed. How can I export just Form 1?
In order to use the PDF export option on GroundControl, you must have an uploaded drawing in Form 3. In your case, since you just want to export Form 1, we recommend exporting to Excel, opening the file in Excel, then converting to a PDF.
How can I change the orientation of a page in Form 3?

After exporting an FAI report, the tolerances are no longer visible for each characteristic. How do I turn these on?
By default, tolerances should automatically append themselves to a characteristic in the requirement column. It is possible that this was turned off at some point. To toggle it back on, please navigate to the site settings (gear icon on left of screen) and make sure the Add Tolerance to Requirement slider is turned on (positioned to the right).
If I miss a balloon and want to add it in afterwards, how can I do that?
Instead of having to delete all your balloons and starting over from scratch you can use the Insert in Place function to select the characteristic you would like to place a balloon before. For more details, check out this page on Balloon Settings.

Why is GroundControl not reading a characteristic correctly?
While GroundControl is extremely accurate, there may be moments where our AI tools make a mistake. When double checking your Form 3 spreadsheet, if you find that GroundControl has incorrectly parsed a characteristic, you have the option to ask our AI to try again. In the top left corner of the characteristic panel, click the Re-Parse Annotation Text button that looks like a camera.
If our AI continues to misread the characteristic, you can manually edit the requirement in either the characteristic card or spreadsheet. If you find that this error reoccurs, please let us know by using our live chat feature, or emailing [email protected] or [email protected].

If a customer of ours frequently requires a specific format for our FAI reports, is there a way to export our report this way?
Yes! For customers with specific form requirements, we can create a custom template for you. If your facility has custom template reports, you can find your custom templates in the Create new FAIR window. This will add your additional custom fields and forms and will export to your chosen template later.
Custom templates will only be present if you have worked with us to create one for your specific customer previously.

I'm having an issue where I'm not able to use Annotation Mode. It's on in the toolbar but it won't let me create any balloons. What do I do?
One common issue that would lead to not being able to create balloons on a new document is that the uploaded PDF is locked. To try to resolve this, open the original PDF file on your computer and enter the print menu. From there, save it as a PDF. If you upload this new PDF you should be able to create balloons now.
