Have an old report that you would like to pull into GroundControl? We can do that!
To begin, make sure the FAIR you want to import is formatted as a PDF file. If it is not, please convert it before attempting to upload.
Then, click the "Import FAIR" button in the top right of the GroundControl dashboard/homepage.
From there, select a customer from the dropdown, or create a new customer to upload this report under.
When you are ready, upload your completed FAIR at the bottom of the screen. Reminder, for this to work, you need to upload a PDF file. If your completed FAIR is an Excel file, use "Save As" to convert it into a PDF.
Next, you'll see a preview of your FAIR on the left. All you have to do is click and drag that preview to the correct box. In this example, we have a Form 1 page in the preview, so I click and drag that to the Form 1 box. Repeat this until there are no unassigned pages remaining.
Once you have finished assigning all the pages, you should see something similar to this.
From there, click the "Process & Continue" button, and let it process your FAIR. This is usually fairly quick process, but for a very long FAIR it may take several minutes. Feel free to leave this tab in the background and do something else while waiting. You can have another GroundControl tab and continue doing another FAIR while you wait.
Once it finishes processing, the next step will be to match your attachments to the Material/Process and Functional Test boxes. If your FAIR had any material certs, they would appear here. Once you have finished that, click "Build PDFs & Continue". Lastly, on this final screen click "Open FAIR".
Your imported FAIR will open. Make sure to double-check that everything was imported correctly.
Keep in mind that the balloons on your imported drawing will be READ-ONLY, meaning they cannot be edited. However, all other fields are editable.
