You can find the settings page on the left toolbar on any page in GroundControl. Simply click the gear icon, and you will be navigated to your settings.
Site Settings
The Site Settings tab houses a few different options and preferences you can set that apply to all of your reports.
Form 1 Settings
You can adjust the name of your organization, which is included in Form 1 of every report you export. Simply type into the field and make sure to click "Save Organization Name" when you are ready.
Form 3 Settings
For Form 3, you can set your preference for the style of your reference location, and the default entry for your characteristic designators.
For your Reference Location Style, you have the option to choose between the S1-A-1 or Sheet 1 of N A-1 format.
For your Characteristic Designator Default, you have the option to choose between N/A, Minor, or Major.
Make sure to click the "Save" buttons if you have made any changes that you would like to keep.
Custom Templates
If your site has any custom templates, you can select which templates to use by default here.
Simply check the box next to the template name, and press the "Save Default Templates" button. Then, the next time you create a report it will automatically be in the format of your default templates. Still, be sure that you select the correct templates in your export option to export the report in your desired format.
Export Settings
Lastly, you can adjust some export-related settings on this page, too.
The first setting you can adjust pertains to your tolerances in Form 3. By turning on the "Add Tolerance to Requirement" switch, you can automatically append all tolerances to the requirement column of Form 3.
Next, you have Export Stamp options. Export stamps are brief, one-liner headers and footers than you can append to Forms 1, 2, and 3 of every report. If you want to, you can also include an image with your export stamp message.
Simply enter your export stamp message, select the position on your report that you would like to append it to, and click the "Save Export Stamps" button.
This is especially useful if you wanted to add a note to each report with your company name and logo.
Custom Templates
The Custom Templates tab on the settings page lets you see the list of custom templates that we have made and uploaded to GroundControl for your use. Only users at your facility can see these templates.
π‘ If your facility is in need of a custom template, please reach out to [email protected] with a blank template and any additional important information. Then we can discuss implementation.
If you select a template from this list, you can see your Template Details. The Template Details describe the list of custom rows, columns, and fields that your team has asked us to include in your custom template. You likely will not need to see these beyond confirming that everything looks good the first time you try your new template, but all those custom fields are listed here for your peace of mind.
Customer Presets
The Customer Presets tab on the settings page allows you to view and adjust customer-specific settings in GroundControl.
The primary example of this would be your balloon settings. Things like balloon size and color are saved on a per-customer basis, and adjustments you make to these settings are set as the default the next time you create a report under that customer's name.
By selecting the customer's name from the dropdown menu, you can view your current customer presets.
From there, you are able to change these settings without having to open up a report for that customer. Just make sure to click the "Save Settings" button at the bottom of the page if you make any adjustments.
As our feature set grows, we will continue to add additional features to this page so you have a one-stop shop for all customer-specific settings.
Stamps
The Stamps tab on the settings page allows you to create custom stamps that can be applied to your uploaded PDFs through the PDF Markup tool, if your facility has it enabled.
π‘ To request access to the PDF Markup tool, please reach out to [email protected].
To use these stamps, simply enter the text you would like stamped on your document in the "Create New Stamp" field. Then, select whether you would like the date appended to the stamp and choose the color of the stamp, then click the "Add" button.
Next, create a Stamp Group, name it, and add the stamp to that group.
Now, when you are in the PDF Markup tool, you can apply this stamp anywhere on a PDF, as many times as you would like. This is especially convenient for marking ITAR information on your drawings without using an external PDF editor.
