Exporting from GroundControl

Everything about the various options to export from GroundControl.

Updated this week

Once your report is complete and you are ready to export your report out of GroundControl, click the "Export" button in the left navigation panel.

This article will cover everything you need to know about the multiple options you have to export your report.

After clicking the "Export" button, an export window will pop up. From here, you have several options for exporting your report.

🚨 Note the Export button may be red. This occurs if you have any issues outstanding, usually due to missing data. You can still export your report by overriding this warning.

Quick Export Options

Most of the time, the Quick Export options will be sufficient when it comes to pulling your report out of GroundControl. Click the Quick Export dropdown to view all the simple export options we offer.

Excel (Complete)

This will output a ZIP file that you can open to expand an Excel file with Sheets for Form 1, Form 2, and Form 3 per the AS9102C standard.

Your Form 2 attachments and ballooned drawing will also be included in this ZIP file, but they will be separate PDF files from your Excel file.

PDF (Complete)

This option will output a single PDF file with the following sections:

  • Forms 1, 2, and 3 of the AS9102C

  • Balloon Drawing

  • All files uploaded to Form 2 (material certs, functional test proof, etc)

Form 2 Attachments

This option will output a single PDF combining all of the files uploaded to Form 2.

Net-Inspect

This option will output your data from Forms 1, 2, and 3 to a Net-Inspect compatible Excel template. You can then upload this template into Net-Inspect.

This will not include any attachments uploaded to Forms 2 and 3. Please be sure to upload these attachments yourself when importing to Net-Inspect.

ProShop

This export will produce a .csv file that can be uploaded into Pro Shop ERP.

Custom Templates

If you have any custom templates applied to your FAIR, you can choose them from this dropdown to generate an Excel file (without your ballooned drawing and Form 2 attachments).

Custom Configurable Export Packages

If the Quick Export options do not serve your exact needs, the "Configure Package..." option may be what you are looking for.

In this window, you can completely customize your export package. Using the checkboxes, select what you would like to include in your package. If you are using a custom template, you will see that at the bottom of the page. Once you are satisfied with your selection, click the "Continue to Format" button at the bottom right of your screen.

On this page, you can choose whether your exported files will be in an Excel format, or a PDF format.

If you choose to export as a PDF, you can also select whether you want each part of your package to be its own PDF file, or to combine everything into one.

Once you are happy with those settings, click the "Review Package" button.

Take a second to review your options, and when you are ready, click the "Export Package" button, then after a brief processing time, your report will begin downloading.

Your customized export package will download in a compressed .zip filetype. Simply open this file and it will expand into the file(s) you selected.
